Melisa is an incredible biblical counselor whose compassion and wisdom truly changed my life. By the Lord's grace I had an appointment with Melisa for biblical counseling. The first day of our appointment I had a huge life event that changed everything for my family and I. Melisa listened patiently and gently reminded me to hold onto the Lord. She was very gentle with me as I processed the many events that were happening at a rapid speed. When I could not make sense of life she pointed me to the Lord and His ways. She is a spiritual barometer constantly reminding of God's character. She always has the perfect scripture to put me on the right path, encourages me in godly living and helps me see clearly through a biblical lens. She has a deep understanding of the Bible while using her spiritual gifts of grace and mercy to encourage women. The Lord has used Melisa in more ways than I can express. She is a gift to me and the community of women she serves.
I learned that all problems can be solved by bringing them to God and searching His word. Having a personal relationship with our creator is the most important thing we can do. He wants us to come to Him and lean on Him for understanding. With Melisa's help I was able to search through the right scriptures to understand what the root of the problem was and come to a place of reconciliation with myself, God and my daughter. I now stop and evaluate the situation before I react and I have stopped internalizing things. I no longer take on things that are meant for God to handle. Biblical counseling has helped me more than words can express. I was in a new state. Across the country from friends and family, with only my daughter to talk to. But, my daughter had her own issues she was dealing with and Melisa helped me work through things. Thank you Melisa for your God given talent of helping people.
After an 18 month traumatic situation with our oldest child, even though I had been a Christ-follower for over 2 decades, I found myself spiraling. I was stuck in a cycle of overwhelm and negative thoughts, that was affecting my mind and body and overflowed onto my marriage and our 6 children. I was not able to get out of this pit by myself, which only added to my shame and frustration. I praise the Lord for connecting me with Melisa. From the first time we met, it was evident how the Spirit led our conversations, and worked through Melisa to minister to me. Melisa asked the right questions, lovingly pointed out errors in my thinking, equipped me with tools and assigned me exercises to work through my issues. Always, always, she pointed me back to the One-the only One- who can help and heal. At a time when I couldn't focus or remember for myself, she came alongside me and reminded me of the truth. Through Melisa's spirit-led counseling, I can honestly say that the Lord has used this situation for good in the life of my family. I have seen Romans 5:3-4 come to fruition as I have learned how to "glory in tribulations" and watch them produce perseverance, character and hope.
